Heggie's surname rhymes with "edgy" .... a nice and fitting coincidence. Actually we'll get back to that later. We're going to segue quietly to a personal note of thanks. Mark is the man responsible for inking a profound quote from Nietzche on the frontal landscape of a certain blonde. The blonde's own perfection is above reproach, but ... the tattoo! Letters flowing like mist beneath the soft fabric of the skin ... bold hue of darkness against the alabaster sweep ... and it's written backwards so the subject can see the message every day in the mirror AND the male viewer has an acceptable reason to gaze at her chest until the words make sense. But like other tattoo artists, Heggie is equally adept at transferring his visions to the less sentient (but more expansive) surface of the canvas; and his imaginative grasp of the surreal, the iconic, and the darkly humorous is perfectly suited to 323East. Add to that Heggie's eclectic enthusiasm for other expressive formats and you have a singular glimpse of a singular (and talented) individual.
